About Us

Doug Ritchie (he/him)
Registered Psychologist
Hello and welcome! I am a Registered Psychologist living in St. Albert, with several years experience working in mental health and addictions. I consider myself to be a social justice advocate, and strive to be an ally to women, LGBTQ2SI+ communities, Indigenous peoples, People of Colour, and newcomers to Canada. I work to decrease the stigma of mental illness and substance use.

I grew up in Winnipeg and have lived in Toronto, Vancouver, Kelowna, and now St. Albert/Edmonton. I have a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Vancouver, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Manitoba.
My clinical work has been split between public health, where I have worked with people who struggle with mental illness and chronic substance use issues, and the private health sector – where I have specialized in multiple approaches, and worked with people from all walks of life with all kinds of concerns. My goal is to help people feel empowered in their life, and less bothered by their thoughts, sensations, and emotions.

I enjoy playing golf, baking while listening to podcasts, and watching sports on TV. I am a parent to two young children, and a partner. My life can feel busy and hectic at times, but also fun and rewarding. I love my career as a psychologist and feel honoured to be involved and trusted by my clients.

Kaitlin Schamber (she/her)
Registered Psychologist
Welcome! I am a Registered Psychologist practicing in St. Albert with daytime availability. I also offer walk-and-talk therapy sessions in the spring, summer, and fall, weather permitting.

My primary areas of focus include trauma, grief, pregnancy and postpartum mental health, and relationship concerns. I also support individuals and couples navigating a wide range of life challenges. I have completed the Canadian Certificate in Perinatal Mental Health (CC-PMH) and have a strong interest in supporting individuals and couples through the transition to parenthood.

I take a flexible, integrative approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), and EMDR. I believe therapy works best when it is tailored to the individual, and I aim to create a collaborative space that respects your goals, values, and lived experience.

I believe that meaningful change is possible, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. My goal is to offer compassionate, evidence-based support to help you navigate obstacles, build resilience, and move toward a more fulfilling life. I am a registered provider with NIHB and am licensed to practice in both Alberta and the Northwest Territories, where I also offer virtual sessions.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my partner, daughter, and two dogs. I also enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, meeting friends for coffee, and watching reality TV.
