About Us

Doug Ritchie (he/him)
Registered Psychologist
Hello and welcome! I am a Registered Psychologist living in St. Albert, with several years experience working in mental health and addictions. I consider myself to be a social justice advocate, and strive to be an ally to women, LGBTQ2SI+ communities, Indigenous peoples, People of Colour, and newcomers to Canada. I work to decrease the stigma of mental illness and substance use.

I grew up in Winnipeg and have lived in Toronto, Vancouver, Kelowna, and now St. Albert/Edmonton. I have a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Vancouver, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Manitoba.
My clinical work has been split between public health, where I have worked with people who struggle with mental illness and chronic substance use issues, and the private health sector – where I have specialized in multiple approaches, and worked with people from all walks of life with all kinds of concerns. My goal is to help people feel empowered in their life, and less bothered by their thoughts, sensations, and emotions.

I enjoy playing golf, baking while listening to podcasts, and watching sports on TV. I am a parent to two young children, and a partner. My life can feel busy and hectic at times, but also fun and rewarding. I love my career as a psychologist and feel honoured to be involved and trusted by my clients.

Kaitlin Schamber (she/her)
Registered Psychologist
Welcome! I am a Registered Psychologist practicing in St. Albert and I have daytime and evening availability.
My main areas of focus are trauma, grief, pregnancy and postpartum issues, and relationship issues, but I have experience supporting individuals and couples with a wide variety of challenges. I strive to be flexible in how I approach therapy and tend to draw on several evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), and EMDR. Above all, I recognize that each person I work with is unique, and I aim to make your therapy experience tailored to you and respectful of your goals and hopes.

I believe that change is always possible. I hope to empower and support you in navigating obstacles to making meaningful change and living a fulfilling life. My goal is to offer guidance, compassion, and evidence based therapy that honours your needs and preferences without judgment. I am a registered provider with NIHB and am registered as a psychologist in both Alberta and the Northwest Territories, where I offer virtual sessions.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my partner, daughter, and two dogs. I love reading good books, spending time in the outdoors, grabbing coffee with friends, and watching reality TV.
